I’ll be participating in the Criterion Challenge in 2025. That link, to the original from 2021, details what the challenge is. In short, it’s 52 movies that fit specific categories, from the Criterion Collection. It’s meant to do one each week, but the rules are flexible. This year’s list of categories is a fun one, and it was a really good time going through the list to pick out the movie I wanted to watch for each selection.
My highlights seem to have come from the decade categories:- The Rules of the Game – 1930s
- The Red Shoes – 1940s
- The 400 Blows – 1950s
- L’Avventura – 1960s
I begin tomorrow with a watch that is on my list, but is coming from the Letterboxd Roulette thing I do as well: The Worst Person in the Word. If I get through this, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
