Austin Barnes was never a guy who was going to make a bunch of headlines, but man, did it hurt to see that he was DFA’d this week. As I read this great piece saying goodbye, I remembered that he really was the guy who caught all those World Series games and even had some major contributions offensively. Kids today will remember Barnes as the guy who got Joe Davis fired up every time he got a hit, but I’ll remember him as a dude.
